Odessa Mama
This place is an institution in West-Berlin with an ancient interior and lots of memoribilia. The restaurant is dedicated to the multi-cultural culinary scene of the harbor city of Odessa and the menu reflects just that. Loads of Ukrainian classics and (perhaps) slightly less expected, but not less delicious, items like a baba ganoush style eggplant and shashlik. The Pelmeni are outstanding, the stews are comforting, and the Chicken Kyiv is buttery, like truly, come hungry. Of course, there’s Napoleon cake for dessert and Ukrainian Vodka throughout. There’s some great cooking happening here and lovely, homely vibes.
We highly recommend getting a pitcher of Mors, that's a low-sugar drink made from berries such as cranberries that accompanies the rich dishes very well.
