Cicer - The World of Chickpea
As the name entails, the focus is completely on the noble chickpea -- Houssine, the Lebanese-German owner, is deep down the chickpea rabbit hole. The focus is on hummus with a topping of your choice (most notably novelties in the likes of shrimp) and it is very, very good; creamy, packed with flavor with fresh, crispy toppings. But it doesn’t stop here. The falafel is crunchy, the musabaha warm and comforting; even the pickles and veggies show the dedication to quality at this place. This place is special and needs to be on people's radars.
The secret Pro move: A kafta sandwich, which is done uniquely by smearing the lamb mince lahmacun style on a lavash bread and then griddle-frying it. When crispy it is then rolled up with Toum, pickles and his secret Lebanese green chili hot sauce. This thing is f-y marvelous. Also, potentially the best fattoush in the city.
