Eierhäuschen in Spreepark is calling all experienced restaurateurs looking to create a 3-year pop-up restaurant starting in 2022. This is an incredible opportunity to start witha completely blank canvas in one of Berlin’s most iconic restaurant locations as how this restaurant operates depends entirely on the restaurateur that comes on board. This interim use of the restaurant serves as a prelude to the reopening of the entire Spreepark grounds. The concept should convince through a high level of quality, and a desire to make the place attractive all year round for families, foodies and tourists alike.
This historically significant location, in conjunction with the planned art residencies, run by Grün Berlin, and the opening of the legendary Spreepark, offers an ideal platform to establish a lasting venue for food and culture in Berlin. The Eierhäuschen was opened in the 19th century as an excursion restaurant on the edge of the Plänterwald, located directly on the banks of the Spree. During the GDR era until the early 1970s, it was one of the most popular outings in Berlin.
By 2021, its complete renovation will be finished, including the restaurant, beer garden and artists’ residences with adjacent exhibition rooms. The gastronomic space of the Eierhäuschen will be used as a pop-up restaurant for three years from spring 2022 until the reopening of the entire Spreepark area in 2024. The dance hall, connected to the restaurant, is available for events, and a total of 540 seats are planned, distributed across the restaurant, coffee garden, dance hall and beer garden.
