  • Natural wine bistro Hinterland in Berlin-Kreuzberg is looking for an experienced, unique and driven individual to join the team in a full-time position as Chef de Partie. You are a chef with a good amount of fine-casual restaurant experience, you are confident in craft approaches and you love to work directly with farmers and independent purveyors to build a seasonal & sustainable menu. But above all, you enjoy being a part of a small, tight team and you’re a natural collaborator. If this rings true, Hinterland is looking for you! Several years in a similar kitchen role is required, plus a strong ability to communicate in English is a must for this full-time role.


    Hinterland is a low-intervention wine-focused bistro serving a sophisticated, sharing-plate dinner menu. The food program is aligned with the seasons and the bounty of our local food system in Brandenburg and direct environs but with an imaginative twist. The extensive & unique wine offering is the perfect synthesis to the food concept. As a bustling wine bar space, Hinterland is a unique locale that is both casual and polished, a truly lovely place to get cozy with a glass of wine or dine with friends. Hinterland was founded with the aim to provide attentive hospitality, high-integrity food & wine and a soulful experience in our warm space — we take care in every aspect when it comes to both our internal company culture and our guest experience, because it all matters.

    We are offering you:

    -Full-time, 40 hrs/week contract with health insurance

    -are able to communicate effectively and with ease in both German and English
    -possess high level of professional drive
    -good experience in fine-casual & contemporary bistro settings
    -are proactive, driven and derive enjoyment from being a part of a tight-knit, small team
    -have good foundational knowledge in classical cooking techniques
    -a background in start-up gastronomy businesses and small kitchens is a plus!
    -live in Berlin currently or are looking to move to Berlin soon
