TAKE A DEEP BREATH
And order food for delivery and takeout!
Once again, we’re proud to present the selection of the best takeaway and delivery food in Berlin Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and Wedding in a comprehensive guide to help you survive the second Corona/COVID-19 lockdown of 2020 in style. The lockdown offering among restaurants is a jungle and this is our attempt to highlights the most compelling offers among Berlin’s best restaurants. This list is the first edition in a series that summarizes the adjusted takeout and delivery options of the Berlin food projects I usually report on, celebrating the possibly only good thing that’s coming out of this crisis: A magnificent take-out food offering from restaurants that otherwise would never ever consider offering such options.
First out on this series is a focus on the central and Northern districts of Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and Wedding. As the beating business heart of Berlin, the district of Mitte offers and abundance of great restaurants and compared to other districts, the food offering in Berlin Mitte is by far the most upscale and modern. It’s definitely the place in Berlin with the least percentage of casual immigrant-food restaurants and therefore also the place that traditionally featured the least take-out and delivery options. The further North you go in Mitte, the grungier and hipper the restaurant offering gets and the Northern border joins seamlessly with Prenzlauer Berg, a district that’s a lot more residential than Mitte and where you’ll therefore find a lot more contemporary neighbourhood-style restaurants. Wedding is really a mixed back of everything, but especially strong when it comes to exceptional, casual food offerings from immigrant cuisines.
There are an abundance of fantastic new offerings on this list – why not give them all a try during the next weeks? Also check my Instagram feed for even more real-time offers from restaurants and shops all over Berlin.
Keep on checking back here as I will keep updating this list as new offerings emerge.
