Oh yes, we’re approaching New Year’s Eve 2017 with huge strides and, like every year, we have collected the very best New Year’s Eve dinners and restaurants in Berlin for you. While I’m not going to tell where to end your night, I will tell you where to start it in order to make sure your last dinner of 2017 will be a meal you’ll remember.
From Thai BBQ feasts to exclusive fine dining experiences with rarities from the sommelier’s cellar, there is something for everyone in Berlin. Demand is always massive and tickets are limited, so make sure to book quickly. Also check back here regularly as I will be updating this list with more restaurants in the next week.
For all you visitors who are coming to celebrate the biggest night of the year in Berlin, be advised that your should book seats for dinner if you would like to have a good meal. Most restaurants do special “Silvester” events and sell out weeks on advance.

Want to kick of 2018 at the coolest rooftop venue in Kreuzberg? Then you should book a seat at the Atelier NYE dinner where Berlin chef legends Kristof Mulack and Martin Müller from the soon-to-be restaurant TISK will be cooking a spectacular 5-course menu. Entertainer extraordinaire Michel Niknafs will host the whole thing and at 00:00 you can watch the fireworks from a spectacular location – and after that you descend down to the club Prince Charles to shake it til the sun rises in the new year. This brand new restaurant on Paul Lincke Ufer (ran by a part of the former Industry Standard crew) is hosting what 100% will be a very wet and casual New Year’s Eve celebration. For 25€ you’ll get sparkling wine, a cocktail and some snacks and if you want more food, you can just order it a la carte from the fantastic bar food venue.
Def one of Berlin’s best and coolest fine-dining restaurant are offering a ten-course menu designed to put all the food you’ve eaten and all the wine you’ve drunken to shame. And with Germany’s most famous and celebrated sommelier, Billy Wagner, at the helm, you just know that this will be one hell of a NYE dinner. For a blast from Sebastian Frank’s repertoire of Austrian masterchef cooking, make your way to Horváth on Paul-Lincke-Ufer. Here you will dine on a insane 8-course menu consisting out of a highlight exposé of Frank’s dishes. You shall also be exceptionally well hydrated with a wine pairing, all for 285€. How about fondue instead? And beer, lots of beer. That’s what Berlin’s beloved BRLO Brwhouse will be serving for their Silvester celebrations, offering two different cheesy menus with unlimited sides and sauces, as well as welcome Berliner Weisse cocktail, 2 BRLO beers and water for a very respectable (max) cost of 65,00 € per person. Remaining true to German tradition, Hotel Orania will be screening “Dinner for One” for it’s pre-Silvester aperitif accompanied by the tinkling of piano music and a few key dishes before you head off elsewhere. If you’re staying around for dinner afterwards, their 8 course fusion menu costs 170€ including an aperitif, paired wines, water and an obligatory glass of bubbles to see in midnight. One of the 12 seats at the Ernst bar might just be the hottest dinner reservation in Berlin for New Year’s Eve. Tickets for the 30+course dinner will be 300 euros and this includes enough great wine to blow your head off (the beverages will be a selection of the crew’s favourite wines throughout the year. And if you’re not one of the lucky twelve eaters here, you can also swing by throughout the day to pick up a bottle of champagne.
From 1900 til the bitter end. Berlin’s finest wine bar is running regular service on New Year’s Eve. With a boatload of Champagne, Oysters, Caviar and Truffels. “Einfach reinspazieren und mittrinken” – Just walk in and have a drink with us. Highly recommended.
The sub-zero, Michelin-star awarded dining temple of avant-garde German eating is opening its doors on NYE for a special menu. Eight courses by Chef Andreas Rieger perfectly matched with boss Ivo Ebert’s wines. All for 249€. Book under email@example.com.
The legendary vegetarian fine dining club restaurant was just awarded its first Michelin star and celebrating New Year’s Eve here will for sure be a wise move. The package includes a six course dinner (149€) and an optional beverage pairing (55€) plus an afterparty at the Crackers restaurant downstairs. Reserve under firstname.lastname@example.org.
This rowdy Tel Aviv-restaurant might just be the perfect place to celebrate NYE. This year’s theme is “The Jungle” and will cost 89€. There are two seatings available, first one at 18:30 and the second one at 21:00. Reserve your table via email or phone. Advanced payment (50% of the total) is required. Eat yourself into the new year in style at this sparkling new and very glamorous, Italian steakhouse – with signature Negroni variations, bucket loads of prosecco and a special 9-course NYE menu with Sicilian red prawn, ox cheeks, fassone bistecca and much more. If celebrating the new year in a glamorous total area of 1000 square meters with 3 different floors all open till the early hours sounds like your kinda thing, then the 5-course dinner at The Grand will set you back 169€ per person, after which you can buy tickets to the club where DJs will play until the early hours. No special menu. Extremely tough to book. Champagne and meat in abundance. One of the most spectacular views of the fireworks from the river. If you talk your way on this will be a pretty decadent spot to ring in the new year.
For an Omakase-style evening, Zenkichi will be serving an multi-course tasting menu from its fine-dining Izakaya home. There are two sittings, the first between 18.00 and 18:45 and then between 21.00 and 22.00, perfect if you’ve got plans either before or after. The menu costs 105€ per person and there’s a full range of premium quality sake to wash it all down with. Reserve your seat here.
For folks wanting a touch of old fashioned glamour, look no further than the Clärchens. There’s a three course menu planned (including a flying desert!) before the legendary ballroom sweeps you into an evening of dancing as 2018 comes and goes. Tickets cost upwards of 119€ and are available to buy here.
As a precursor to other evening activities, Einstein will be serving a menu of all its favourite Austrian dishes (available in 3 courses (45€ pp) or 4 courses (52€ pp) which ends at 23:00 so you have time to get to your next party/dance floor in time to ring in the new year. Round up the squad, it’s time for NYE Mrs Robinson’s style. This year their seven-course menu is a feast for anyone craving lobster, oysters and bao (hello, who doesn’t?) Two seatings take place, one at 18:00 – 21:30 costing 108€ pp, and one 21:45 – end costing 118€ pp. Reservations can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your reservation request, party size and preferred sitting time.
These ‘hummussexuals’ (their words, not mine) have an evening full of (you guessed it) hummus planned for 2017’s final hours. After 10 days of renovations, the Kanaan event complex will be open for this special evening, serving a seven-course set menu of Kanaan’s delicious vegan & vegetarian foods with influences from the Arabic and Israeli kitchens. You’ll have front-row seats to the apocalyptic madness of Warschauer Strasse from the comfort of The Michelberger’s cosy candle-lit dining room. This year, Alan Micks and his team have decided to go back to where it all began for them – a la carte cooking and classic French cuisine. Organising ‘the party to end all parties’ (which I fully believe these guys to be capable of), Khwan are planning amazing barbecued and smoked meats, endless booze, fireworks, bands, djs and more to bring 2017 to a close. For some of the best meat in Berlin, this Italian steakhouse’s two services might be an interesting option. From 18:00-21:00 they’ll be offering a 4-course ‘Early Bird’ menu for 89€ per person, then from 21:00 onwards they’ll be opening their doors for a second service, this time including 5 courses accompanied by live music at a cost of 99€ per person. The brand new fine dining restaurant located above the roofs behind Potsdamer Platz will be serving a spectacular 5-course menu including champagne, wine, water and coffee for 350€ per person. After the dinner the party goes on until the sun rises – keep in mind that this location used to be home to a club.
The avant-garde dessert and cocktail bar might just be the classiest place to celebrate Silvester 2017 in Neukölln. Things will be kicking off at 19.00 with a special menu and seats will sell fast, so make sure to book quickly.
Feast on Berlin’s finest Peruvian food and pisco sours right by the canal. Six courses, a welcome drink and a glass of bubbly for 77 Euro? Sounds like a bloody great deal to me.

These guys will be opening up their Silvester menu with a pizza starter before taking guests on a non-stop tour of classic Neapolitan meat and fish dishes including Burrata rissotto and Pancetta di maiale.
