Welcome to the back to school issue of Berlin’s hottest food newsletter! After having eaten my way through some of the most acclaimed restaurants of the North (Denmark and Sweden – not Wedding) during my vacation, I’ve once more arrived at the conclusion that less is always more when it comes to food and that many Berlin chefs should stop over complicating their food. But, more than ever, I’m spectacularly excited to be back eating in my favourite city in the world – so let’s start feasting, shall we?

The American beer brand is about to open its 2,400 square meter ‘Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens’ out in Mariendorf. On the menu: world cuisine with smoked meats and 65(!) beers on tap. First reason ever to go to Marienfelde? YES! PROST!
The Factory Kitchen
Tim Raue is long gone and Berlin’s coolest startup hub has relaunched its restaurant with a weekday breakfast and lunch service and dinner service on weekends.
Fresh lunch salads that are both delicious and satisfying. A straightforward food concept by a straightforward health eatery in Mitte.
Thai sandwich? Mango crème brulée? Just a few of the modern dishes you can get at the newly-opened modern Thai kitchen, ‘Bangkok City’ in Kreuzberg.
Nobelhart & Schmutzig
Berlin’s most progressive fine dining restaurant is raising the price of their 10-course menu from 80€ to 95€. It still makes a meal at this fantastic restaurant one of the best value-for-money dining experiences in Berlin.
Hope is fading that the Chausseestraße Mexican Tacqueria will ever open again and it looks like I may have eaten my last juicy and delicious Suadero taco. A harsh blow for Berlin’s taco landscape. R.I.P.
Realistically we’ve got about one sweaty week left of this year’s summer before we all go back to freezing to death. So that’s one last week to eat ice cream like there is no tomorrow!
